More broken teeth at Burger King

Angry Whopper
To the right is the offender — a Burger King Angry Whopper

I'm finding more folks who have suffered broken teeth at Burger King. Here's one from Bloomington, Illinois:
I stopped at the Burger King on Veterans Parkway on my way home from Bloomington. I live in Lincoln 30 miles away. I purchased a sausage/egg biscuit and when I took the first bite I knew my tooth had broke off. I pulled over and found that there was a bone in the sausage and it broke off 1/2 of my upper right molar. We do not have dental insurance and I am extremely upset.
Here's another:
I was very upset Friday, May 27/05 when eating a Whopper Burger I bit into a piece of bone and chipped the crown of a tooth I had fixed recently. I complained to the staff. I was told the Manager wasn't in. We said the Manager could call at home as we were in town for a wedding on Monday. I did not get a phone call yesterday. Where do I go?
And another:
I really know how this you feel, I am also a victum and will never eat at burger king. I brought so chicken nuggets and inside the nugget was a bone the bone chipped my tooth and i had to have the tooth pulled.

Burger King refused to pay for the tooth that i had pulled and told me they did not know where the bone came from. this company needs to get on the ball with customer service. I am looking for someone to tell me who i can call because the tooth i had pulled did not need to be removed from my mouth.
And another:
An Orange County [Texas] woman has filed a lawsuit against Burger King, claiming the fast food restaurant served her a burger with a rock inside, a court clerk confirmed.

Tabatha Clifton filed a lawsuit in the 128th District Court on July 22, claiming lost earnings and mental anguish from a tooth she says broke when she bit down on the rock.
And another:
I ate at the Burger King #4457 in Riverview, Florida and got more than I wanted.

I ordered a hamburger w/ no pickle and ended up with a metal pop can tab inside.

It broke my tooth off at the gum line and my insurance does not cover it. I asked the insurance adjuster to send me to a doctor and she told me that I would have to pay for it myself and the Burger King Corp. doesn't want to return my phone calls. Please if anyone can help me please email me.
I am reading FOOD, INC. now with the anticipation of seeing the film when it comes out on DVD, which I plan to show in the Introduction to Film class I teach at Minnesota State University Mankato.

  1. I ate at the Burger King in Bourbonnais, IL 60914 this morning and bit on a bone shard and chipped my tooth. I can't get a hold of anyone in customer service. I've been on the phone for 40 minutes.

I've saved the bone shard. Not sure what else I should do.

  2. It must be a very stressful and frustrating moment for these people that had a broken tooth. I hope these people immediately rushed to their (Raleigh) dentists. Eating fast food weakens the enamel on your tooth. It is not advisable to eat fast food often. Here in Raleigh, NC. Dentists often warn people from eating these junks; it's like drinking water with fluoride.

  3. Not sure if you are still monitoring this blog, but yesterday I bit into something sharp in my junior whopper but I was eating and driving and swallowed before I could realize what was going on. Today I have a sore and bruised floor of my mouth by my tongue and I am freaking out regarding what the hell was in my burger! I have tweeted @BurgerKing and written on their FB page...voicing my ire.
did you ever get an appropriate response?

  4. Was almost done eating my Smokey Cheddar Steakhouse Burger when I bit into a bone piece that broke a piece off an already weak tooth of mine. Called corporate and expect a call back in 3-5 days!?! Don't have dental. What to do?

  5. Okay, this happened to me last night & I was googling to see if anyone else had this happen...apparently they have.

I was eating a Double Whopper last night when all of a sudden I bit down & a pain went up the right side of my face. I stopped chewing and out popped half of my wisdom tooth on my upper right side! Like, seriously. I don't know what to do. I don't have money for a lawyer...BK won't call me back. Basically, I am screwed.

  6. Ok, now it seems like these aren't at all coincidences. What could have caused this to happen? Certainly not that people who eat there have weak teeth, that would be highly improbable! I want to see with my own eyes, though.

  7. The problem with eating at a fast food chain is you are always surprised by something in your food. One thing you can get is an injured tooth if you bite on something hard.

  8. I also broke my tooth eating at Burger King in Pineville, La. I rarely eat fast food but being in college and trying to save money I ate their double cheeze burgers becuase they were on special for a dollar. Three random times I bit down on what was a chunk of bone. The first two times caused pain and I thought it to be bad luck. Not thinking I ordered some one day and this time my back molar was broken. The company has ignored me and finally refered me to their insurance company who denied payment stating there was no physical evidence. What angers me is that I made it 35 years without even a cavity and have perfect teeth, but now I have a broken molar over a dollar cheeze burger. I am going to a lawyer and the newstation to see if I can get help. I think the problem is that people give up and that is the game Burger King is playing. They have a problem with me however, I will never go away until they fix my tooth.

  9. I just cracked a molar vertically (under the gum line). So I have to get the tooth pulled. So my question is (since there are so many of us): can we file a class action lawsuit? If it was just me, I'd say shit happens. But clearly it is not. If we can get this ball rolling, we will all have satisfaction (aside from the horror of not knowing what you are eating). So follow up question: are there any lawyers out there that want to take this on?

  12. I did experienced this. At the location on 510 W. Jefferson in Springfield, IL. I was on vacation and my mom bought me a regular whopper with cheese. While we were in the car, I was eating and a piece of bone fractured my right bottom tooth. I had to eat on the left side of my mouth ALL weekend...and I was on VACATION. I was pissed. My dental work is projected to cost close to $1000. I complained to a Carol yesterday about my situation, but after reading this blog and seeing others who endured this -- I wont be eating a Burger King again.

  14. Katy, Texas February 12, 2016. The Burger King on Mason Rd. My husband and I bought Whoppers. Half way through my whopper I was chewing my bite, when what felt like a bone shard, broke off my tooth. I swallowed my food and the bone shard along with it. Today, May 29, 2016, food has been traveling into what is now a full on cavity. I can't get the food out, I can't hardly eat. I have inflamed gums when I didn't have that problem before. There's pain radiating to the whole right side of my face. I contacted Burger King and they said they needed to have the bone shard for analysis and if I have recent x-rays from the dentist prior to the incident. My oral X-rays are from 2003. I can't afford a yearly dental visit to have recent x-rays. All I have is my bank statement that shows I made a transaction with Burgerking. I am in pain and unable to eat.

  16. I would like to find a lawyer for my incident. But I'm not too knowledgeable on legal fees; let alone how to even start the search to find a good lawyer who will take on this case. I think since there are so many of us, we should all get together and file a class action lawsuit. If anyone is interested, or knows a lawyer who would take our case - email me please: txpmc6283@gmail.com

    Thanks everyone!
